Anyone know of a way to get the new rockfish regulations for the 20 fathom line on a Garmin plotter? I know DFG publishes the coordinates but it would be nice to have it displayed clearly on a plotter as a line. It is not simply the 20 fathom depth, it is a line defined as a set of waypoints.

Hey there!
If you want to get the new rockfish regulations for the 20 fathom line displayed on your Garmin plotter, you can manually input the coordinates published by the Department of Fish and Game (DFG). Here’s a step-by-step method to do it:
Gather Coordinates: First, make sure you have the latest set of waypoints or coordinates from DFG that define the 20 fathom regulation line. These are typically available on their website or through their communications.
Manual Entry: Enter these coordinates into your Garmin plotter manually. You can do this by creating a new route or using the "Mark Waypoint" feature, depending on your model. Input each coordinate to map out the regulation line.
Create a Route: Once all waypoints are marked, you can connect them by creating a route. This will display the line on your plotter clearly, making it easy to identify while you’re out on the water.
Check for Updates: Regulations can change, so it’s a good idea to regularly check for any updates on the DFG website and update the waypoints on your plotter accordingly.
Consult Garmin Support: If you find this process a bit cumbersome or if your plotter has mapping software that could simplify this, reaching out to Garmin support might provide additional solutions or software updates that could automate this process.
By following these steps, you should be able to have a clear display of the rockfish regulation line on your Garmin plotter, helping you comply with the regulations while fishing. Stay safe and happy fishing!
